GENIUS LOCI DUH MESTA SPIRIT of the PLACE Toronto, 2018 This book of images is dedicated to OBSERVERS! In the past 50 years in transit I was trying to record impressions that on the first sight, or maybe only to other people, do not look significant or ominous. They were anything between symbols and observations or even something I am just calling visual joy. My favourite books also provided clues or guidance to the way we connect with the sights. Quotes from some of those are included throughout the pages. Published in November 2018, preview of the complete book is available here but you can also purchase this book there. |

66 SIDEVIEWS 1949–2015, Toronto, 2017 Book about 66 years of collecting impressions. …as I was making [drifts] psychogeographical walks, during these 66 years I was shifting focus from one plain to the other. most of the time a mental reaction is established early on. senses are overwhelmed with primary ambience leading to the state of open minded “blindness”. they are entangled by the forces of decisive attraction. in my case occasionally “recomposed drift focus” glides to the unexpected or sights usually unrecognized as significant. I call them: psychographs or in this case SIDEVIEWS. All of the photographs, sketches Published in January 2017, preview |
