preparation and accounting
services to small businesses
and self employed individuals in
the Toronto and GTA area.

“What is a city?” or “What can still
be considered a city?” It has become
common to ask dramatic, rhetorical
questions like these. Too often
the answer is an unfortunate one:
the city is an unfriendly environment
where its citizens reside. 01 It would
be synonymous to say that the city
has lost its reason for existing, or
even its conscience, since it is no
longer in service to its inhabitants.
The cause is a disease I call the
‘shortage of symbolism’, one among
many troubles facing the urban
environment, and destroying it
from the inside.

This book is an attempt to collect
and synthesize sketches and ideas
which have informed art practice in
the period between 1970 and 2015.
Most interesting is the deeply
intersecting nature of the various
media explored, stretching across
photography, sculpture, etching,
illustration, graphic design and digital
collections. this endeavour highlights
"the process", which combines 45
years of creative action into one
multifaceted art piece.

...in the last 45 years, urban life and
the city itself were a major source
of inspiration for my artistic work.
another important influence was
leonid šejka, an artist belonging
to the group “mediala”. in his work
grad –djubrište–zamak (city–dump –
castle), a theoretical essay for his
visual art, he described his work
with the latin expression: “transsit
clasificando”, meaning classifying
in transit. this was merely the beginning
of his work due to his untimely
death at 42, at the peak of
his career. I am, maybe, continuing
along that path.
